Antioxidants consist of carotenoids and other micronutrients that protect your cells against the free radicals that you naturally produce when working out. The nutrients in berries boost your immune system, reduce inflammation, improve skin tone, even out glucose levels, and are associated with reduced risk of cancer and heart disease. They are delicious fresh, but frozen berries are just as nutritious. You can add them to cereal or a salad or mix up a smoothie.
